She will discuss her role at NBC and will share advice about how to write for broadcast news.
Barbara Raab is senior news writer at NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. She is part of the editorial team that shapes and writes the highest-rated network evening newscast. She is also an adjunct professor at the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism, where she teaches broadcast and interactive courses, and assists with career advising for aspiring broadcast professionals. In addition to her television news experience, Raab has been a contributor to various magazines and web sites, including NYTimes.com, Slate.com, Salon.com, and MSNBC.com, and national legal correspondent for SiriusXM satellite radio’s OutQ News. She is a graduate of the Poynter Institute’s Multimedia for Journalism Educators training seminar. She has a J.D. from the New York University School of Law and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Brown University.
