This week, RTDNA held our Radio Workshop! We skyped with Adam Hochberg, who worked as a reporter for NPR for 20 years and now teaches journalism classes at the University of North Carolina. Adam offered great advice not only for budding journalists, but experienced ones as well saying the best thing you can do for yourself is “…do as many different kinds of work as you can.” Adam also shared some tips on what makes a good sound bite, how to prepare for a story, and why radio is ahead of the times in its own way.
After the skype we managed to put some time in at the studio, going over some basics of the equipment. All in all, we had a nice educational evening.
Get excited for our next meeting, the Social Media Social. As I like to say – a little less talk & a lot more action. See you soon!
