Hi RTDNA members!
We’ve got two huge events approaching winter quarter, as we’re hosting the Sunshine Summit and our annual local conference. If you’re not familiar with the Sunshine Summit, it is a statewide conference that will bring together student journalists and professionals throughout Ohio with the aim of standardizing a policy regarding press access on college campuses.
As you can imagine, we will incur a lot of costs from both of these events, so it’s crucial that we fundraise immediately. We will hold a “Trash for Cash” fundraiser THIS FRIDAY (November 19) and we are in desperate need of your help.
The journalism school has agreed to match the amount of money that we raise on Friday, so we need all of you to help us cover as much ground (or dorms) as possible. Two RTDNA members did this fundraiser at the beginning of the school year and raised over $200 for our organization, so imagine how successful we can be with a high turnout!
The details are below. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org if you will attend.
When and Where: Meet us at the bottom of Morton Hill on Friday, November 19 at 6:00 p.m. The fundraiser will last until about 8:00 p.m.
What to do: Once you’re assigned a “Green,” you’ll go to a residence hall, knock on student dorm rooms and offer to take our their trash for a donation. You’ll have a stack of handouts that explain “Trash for Cash” and RTDNA.
Let me know if you have questions. Don’t forget to RSVP!
