Do you have an interest in international journalism? If so, be sure to  join RTDNA, SPJ and Students for Global Media and Diversity members on Thursday October 21 at 6 p.m. in Scripps 111 as the International Institute for Journalism welcomes Jon Sawyer to campus.

Jon Sawyer is the director of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, an award-winning non-profit journalism organization that supports independent international journalism. It focuses on topics that are under-reported and promotes high-quality international reporting that will reach diverse audiences.

Sawyer became the director of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting after working for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for 31 years. His reporting has been honored by many groups, including the Overseas Press Club, the Inter-American Press Association and the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

Sawyer received a B.A. degree from Yale in English Literature and History and was an Alfred Sloan Fellow in Economics Journalism at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public Policy.
