Hi RTDNA members!
If you missed our meeting last week, below is a recap of what happened. Also, be sure to read the important announcements at the end of this post.
We all met in RTV 371 and walked to Sarah Holt (RTDNA Secretary) and Kristi Ludlow (RTDNA PR Chair)’s home to watch “Broadcast News.” We had ice cream, drinks, and popcorn! It was a great chance to get to know each other. Thank you to everyone who attended!
1.) Join us this Wednesday at 7:30 in RTV 371 for a special presentation about Online Journalism from Scripps Professor, Hans Meyer. Dr. Meyer will share tips and tricks that every broadcast and electronic journalist should know and utilize. He will also discuss topics such as “geo tagging” and it’s role in journalism today.
2.) Dr. Bob Stewart has requested that each Scripps student organization take a group photo. The photo will eventually replace the current photo that is on the top of the J-school website. We will take the photo at this week’s meeting. Please plan (and dress) accordingly. 🙂
3.) WOUB Alumni Week is quickly approaching. On October 15, 2010 there are several opportunities for OU RTDNA members to get participate in the day’s events.
– At 1 p.m., there will be a round table in-depth show with a studio audience. WOUB would like our members to be included in the audience. If you choose to attend, you are requested to ask questions via Twitter and Facebook before and during the show. If you would like to attend, you must RSVP to Evan Millward by Monday Oct. 11.
– The WOUB alumni will produce NewsWatch, which begins at 6:30 p.m. WOUB has invited RTDNA members to observe the show from the gallery. If you would like to watch, RSVP to Taylor Mirfendereski (email@example.com) by Oct. 11.
4.) Remember that you must pay your dues to be a member of our organization! You can purchase a national membership for $65 or a local membership for $25 a year/ $10 a quarter. They must be paid to Mike Holden (RTDNA Treasurer) by Wednesday October 27.
